Aquatic Plant Management

Your Waterway Is Being
Taken Over. We Stop It.

Hydrilla. Water hyacinth. Algae blooms. Torpedo grass. They don't slow down — they accelerate. Our licensed applicators have been eliminating invasive aquatic species across the Southeast since 1978.

The Problem

It Starts With a Few Weeds.
Then It Takes Over.

A few cattails along the bank. Some algae on the surface. You figure it'll go away. It never goes away.

Within one growing season, invasive aquatic plants can cover 80% of a pond surface. Fish start dying from low oxygen. The water turns green, then brown. Residents complain. Property values drop. And by then, treatment costs have doubled.

Aquatic weeds don't take breaks. Every week you wait, they're spreading.

The Process

From Overgrown to Pristine

Three steps. Visible results from the first treatment. Long-term management that keeps it that way.

Before — overgrown pond
1
Before
Algae covering the surface. Invasive weeds choking the margins. Poor water quality, low oxygen, fish kills starting.
During treatment — crew removing weeds
2
Treatment
Licensed applicators deploy targeted herbicides and mechanical removal. Our crew on-site with professional equipment.
After — clean, clear pond
3
After
Clear water. Healthy banks. Balanced ecosystem. Ongoing maintenance keeps it this way year-round.
What We Treat

Targeted Treatment, Not Guesswork

Every species requires a different approach. We identify what's growing, why it's growing, and deploy the most effective treatment with the least environmental impact.

Invasive Species Removal
Hydrilla, water hyacinth, water lettuce, torpedo grass, cattails, and other invasive plants that choke waterways and destroy native ecosystems.
Algae Control
Blue-green algae blooms, filamentous algae, and planktonic algae. We treat the cause, not just the symptom — addressing nutrient loads alongside visible growth.
Licensed Herbicide Application
EPA-approved aquatic herbicides applied by state-licensed applicators with precision targeting. Jimbeau Wilmoth was named Aquatic Plant Manager of the Year by FAPMS.
Biological Control
Triploid grass carp stocking for long-term, sustainable vegetation management. We handle the FWC permit and the entire stocking process.
Native Plant Establishment
We install beneficial native plants that outcompete invasives naturally. Littoral shelf plantings that filter nutrients, reduce algae, and provide wildlife habitat.
Ongoing Maintenance Programs
Monthly, quarterly, or seasonal treatment plans that keep your waterways clear year-round. Scheduled visits, proactive monitoring, no surprises.
How It Works

We Diagnose. We Treat.
We Keep It Clean.

Not a one-time spray and hope for the best. A systematic approach from assessment through ongoing maintenance.

1
Species Identification
We survey your waterway, identify every plant and algae species present, assess coverage levels, and determine why they're growing. Different species require different treatments.
2
Custom Treatment Plan
A targeted plan that addresses your specific invasive species while protecting beneficial native vegetation. We choose the safest, most effective method for your situation.
3
Professional Application
Licensed technicians apply treatments with trucks, spray rigs, airboats, and jon boats — whatever your site requires. We use EPA-approved aquatic herbicides applied to label specifications.
4
Monitoring & Maintenance
Regular follow-up visits verify treatments are working and catch new growth before it spreads. Monthly, quarterly, or seasonal programs available. Your waterway stays clean year-round.

Sound Familiar?

You Need Treatment If...

Your HOA pond is turning green and residents are complaining about the smell, the look, or mosquitoes breeding in stagnant weed mats
Your golf course water hazards are covered in algae and aquatic weeds instead of looking like the pristine features your members expect
Your lakefront property's water is cloudy, green, or growing over — and it's getting worse every month
You've tried DIY treatments or cheaper applicators and the weeds keep coming back — because nobody addressed the root cause

Weeds don't take vacations. They grow faster than you think.

We've cleared 500,000+ acres. Your pond is next.

Questions

Common Questions

Is herbicide treatment safe for fish?
Yes. EPA-approved aquatic herbicides, applied correctly by licensed applicators, are safe for fish, wildlife, pets, and irrigation. We follow all label requirements and use the minimum effective dose. Your fish population actually improves as water quality increases and oxygen levels rise.
How often do I need treatments?
Most ponds benefit from monthly or quarterly treatments during the growing season (spring through fall in Florida). Some heavily infested waterways need initial intensive treatment followed by a maintenance schedule. We'll recommend the right frequency for your situation.
Can I use the water after treatment?
Each herbicide has specific restrictions on the label — some have no restrictions, others require waiting 24-48 hours for irrigation or swimming. We always inform you of any temporary use restrictions after each treatment and choose products that minimize downtime.
Why didn't the last company fix it permanently?
Most companies spray and leave. They treat the visible growth without addressing why it's growing in the first place — nutrient loading, poor circulation, missing littoral plantings. We address root causes: nutrient management, native plant establishment, aeration recommendations, and ongoing monitoring. That's the difference between a quick fix and an actual solution.
What about grass carp?
Triploid grass carp provide excellent long-term biological control for many submersed aquatic plants. Florida requires an FWC permit for stocking, and we handle the entire process — application, approval, stocking, and follow-up assessment. They're not right for every situation, but when they are, they're extremely effective.
