It depends on pond size and what you want it to do. General rule: 1 HP per surface acre for decorative fountains, adjusted for depth and desired spray height. For aeration, deeper ponds need more power. We'll spec the exact right system during the free consultation — never a catalog guess.
Do fountains really improve water quality?
Absolutely. Aerating fountains significantly increase dissolved oxygen, reduce thermal stratification, and disrupt algae formation. Even decorative fountains provide meaningful surface aeration. For deep ponds, subsurface aerators move the most water per dollar. We'll recommend the right type for your water quality goals.
